He has opened for renowned acts including Blues Traveler, Village People, Gin Blossoms, and Blood Sweat and Tears. Josh is also a dedicated scholar, focusing on saxophone literature history and the fusion of rap/hip-hop with Western music. He advocates for integrating popular genres into university programs and mastering diverse musical styles. Currently a music lecturer at Washington College, Josh teaches saxophone, clarinet, and courses on topics like History of Hip-Hop and Arts Entrepreneurship. He is pursuing a doctoral degree at the University of Maryland College Park, assisting Dr. Tim Powell. During his student teaching placements, he focused on working with inner-city students and those with special needs. After graduation, he became the assistant band director at Brown School in Schenectady, NY, where he also provided private instruction to woodwind students and initiated an after-school jazz program. While pursuing his master’s degree, Josh taught woodwind techniques to music education majors and offered saxophone lessons to both majors and minors. He currently serves as an adjunct saxophone and clarinet instructor at Washington College, where he has developed courses in entrepreneurship and hip-hop. Josh is now accepting students into his private studio for both online and in-person lessons.
